Dock lighting · Sarasota & Bradenton

Light the way to the water.

Safe, low-glare lighting for docks, seawalls and waterfront paths, designed for Florida’s coast and the wildlife that shares it.

Your waterfront, safe and stunning after dark.

From Sarasota Bay to the Manatee River and the canals in between, waterfront living is one of the joys of this coast. But once the sun goes down, the dock can become the darkest and most dangerous part of the property: uneven boards, steps, pilings, boat lifts and open water.

Dock lighting makes the walk to the water safe and turns the waterfront into part of your evening view, whether you’re heading out for a night fish, coming home by boat or just watching the water from the lanai.

What we light

  • Dock walkways and edges: low, glare-free lighting that defines the walking surface.
  • Steps, ramps and ladders: clear visibility where it matters most.
  • Pilings and boat lifts: subtle accents that make the structure visible from land and water.
  • Seawalls and shoreline: a soft edge of light that ties the water to the landscape.
  • Paths to the dock: continuous, comfortable light from the house to the water. See landscape lighting.

Designed with Florida wildlife in mind

Florida’s coast is home to sea turtles, manatees, wading birds and fish, and light at the water’s edge can affect them. Good waterfront lighting stays low, shielded and pointed at the surfaces that need it rather than out across the water. For homes near nesting beaches, such as on the barrier islands, seasonal local lighting rules may also apply.

Built for the toughest spot on your property

Salt spray, humidity, storms and tides are hard on anything electrical. We use materials and connections suited to Florida’s weather and install them with care. Because waterfront conditions are so demanding, we recommend regular check-ups as part of our maintenance service.

Questions, answered

Dock lighting FAQ.

Why light a dock?

Safety first: docks, steps and boat lifts are hard to see at night, and a fall into the water is dangerous. Good lighting also lets you enjoy the water after dark and makes the waterfront part of your evening view.

Are there rules for lighting near the water in Florida?

Properties near sea turtle nesting beaches can be subject to local lighting rules during nesting season. That’s a good reason to keep waterfront lighting low, shielded and pointed only where it’s needed.

How do you deal with salt air and moisture on a dock?

Docks are one of the toughest environments for lighting. We choose materials and connections suited to salt air, spray and humidity, and recommend regular maintenance checks for waterfront systems.
